Plagiarism Policy
The Education and Information Technologies (EIT) journal strictly enforces a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. To ensure the integrity of published content, the following guidelines are observed:
1. Definition of Plagiarism
-
Plagiarism involves the unauthorized use or close imitation of another author’s work without proper acknowledgment. This includes:
-
Verbatim copying of text.
-
Paraphrasing without proper citation.
-
Reusing data, ideas, or figures without appropriate credit.
-
2. Detection of Plagiarism
-
All submitted manuscripts are screened using reputable plagiarism detection tools.
-
The editorial team carefully examines flagged sections to differentiate between acceptable similarity (e.g., common phrases or properly cited content) and plagiarism.
-
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% will be rejected unless revised to meet this threshold.
3. Consequences of Plagiarism
-
If plagiarism is detected before publication, the manuscript will be rejected outright.
-
If plagiarism is identified after publication, the article will be retracted, and a notice of retraction will be issued.
-
Authors found guilty of plagiarism may face additional sanctions, such as a ban on future submissions.
4. Author Responsibilities
-
Authors must ensure all sources are properly cited and referenced.
-
Authors should verify the originality of their work prior to submission.
5. Editorial Responsibilities
-
The editorial team will handle plagiarism cases with confidentiality and impartiality.
-
In cases of dispute, the decision of the editor-in-chief will be final.
